FSAT-Europe Trip
The first abroad excursion that I was able to participate in was a trip to Europe. At Mercyhurst, we have a program called FSAT (faculty study abroad trip). These are a really great way to go abroad for a short period of time, and work great with any major.
Here's how the trips work:
-You sign-up for the FSAT trip the spring term before (normally a year) the trip takes place
-After registering, you are given a series of class spots that the course you will be taking will fit into
*Many FSAT courses will count towards "core requirements" like art appreciation, or world perspective
-The following spring term, you will register for the FSAT class normally the professor going teaches this
-After completion of the course, you travel with your teacher, and classmates to the country(s) for the trip
My class was focussed on the art aspects of Europe, so we spent a majority of the time discussing art techniques and looking at cathedrals. There were 25 people in my class and two professors went with us. We left for our trip a week after school was out, and spent a total of fourteen days touring Europe.
We went to:
-London, England
-Paris, France
-Reims, France
-Heideleberg, Germany
-Munich, Germany
-Strasbourg, Austria
-Vienna, Austria
-Bruno, Czech Republic
-Prague, Czech Republic
-Dresden, Germany
-Berlin, Germany
So, in just fourteen days, I was able to see more European cities than I have ever dreamed! This trip was seriously an experience of a lifetime, and I would encourage anyone considering study abroad to look into FSAT trips while at Mercyhurst University! Below, feel free to check-out some of the wonderful pictures of my European Adventure!

FSAT-Ireland Trip
The second abroad excursion that I was able to participate in was a trip to Ireland. I was one in a group of six students and two chaperons who took part in an Ireland pilgrimage trip at the end of the Summer of 2011. It was an amazing experience and below you will find some of the wonderful pictures that I took
